Progressive Blacks in Information Communications and Technology (PBICT)

Empowering South Africa through Inclusivity and Communitism.

Welcome to PBICT, a visionary organization dedicated to driving radical transformation in South Africa’s STEAMIE sectors—Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship. We firmly believe in the principles of communitism—a system where all property is owned by the community, and each person contributes and receives according to their ability and needs.

Our Shared Purpose

At PBICT, we recognize that the struggle for liberation in South Africa continues. Our commitment is to effect fundamental change in the structure, systems, institutions, and patterns of ownership, management, and control of the economy. This change is in favor of all South Africans, particularly the poor, the majority of whom are African and female, as defined by the governing party that shapes policy for our democratic government.

Universal Access

Universal access is central to our mission. We envision a society where products, environments, programs, and services are designed to be usable by all persons, eliminating cultural, physical, social, and other barriers that prevent people, especially those with disabilities, from participating fully in all aspects of life.

Ending Monopolization

We stand against monopolization and illegal practices that hinder fair competition. PBICT is committed to dismantling monopolies, including exclusive dealing, price discrimination, refusal to supply essential facilities, product tying, and predatory pricing, to ensure equitable access and opportunity for all.

Our Collaborative Approach

We believe that achieving our goals requires collective action. PBICT operates as a consortium—an association of individuals, companies, and organizations united by a common purpose. We pool our resources, talents, and expertise to respond to challenges and opportunities in the ICT and STEAMIE sectors.

Democratic and Inclusive

PBICT is a cooperative—an autonomous association of individuals who join voluntarily to meet common economic, social, and cultural needs and aspirations. We believe in democratic decision-making and inclusivity, ensuring that all voices are heard and valued in our pursuit of a fair and just society.

Special NGC and the Future

Our commitment to radical transformation is unwavering. We hold ourselves accountable through a Special National Conference, as outlined in our constitution. This is our mechanism for assessing our progress and evolving to meet the ever changing needs of our members and South Africa as a whole.

Join Us in Shaping the Future

PBICT invites you to join us on this transformative journey towards a more inclusive, equitable, and innovative South Africa. We believe that together, we can dismantle barriers, eradicate monopolies, and champion communitism to ensure that every South African has the opportunity to contribute and benefit according to their ability and needs.

Become a part of PBICT today and help us shape a brighter future for all.

Together, we are stronger, and together, we can achieve remarkable progress in the pursuit of a fair and inclusive society.
